Chemistry With Davante Adams

True, the Packers didn’t do much for Aaron Rodgers by way of securing him some pass-catching help. True, the draft additions of offensive players like running back AJ Dillon or tight end Josiah Deguara probably won’t do much to help Rodgers in 2019. But Rodgers already has his undisputed WR1, and he’s one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Davante Adams has been by Rodgers’ side for all six seasons of his NFL career, and has been a trusted, high-volume target on the Packers’ offense for nearly just as long. Adams took a step back last season, in large part due to injuries, but still managed to put together an impressive season– and has been progressing as a player every year he’s been in the league.

Adams commanded a heavy workload in 2019, despite only appearing in 12 games. His 83 receptions for 997 yards came off of 127 targets, a number that was actually significantly lower than what he got in 2018. If Adams can stay on the field for a full 16 game schedule, he’s sure to see a fair share of opportunity in the offense, which will only benefit Rodgers.

Adams has been an explosive target with a nose for the endzone pretty much since he came into the league. Getting him more touches in the offense is only going to boost the offense, with Rodgers’ stats along with it.
