Swift Is Much More Than Just A Running Back
We talked about the numbers that D’Andre Swift put up with the Bulldogs last season on the ground. He also is capable of being a very good receiver out of the backfield.
During the 2019 season at Georgia, Swift caught 24 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown. Teams in the NFL are always looking for dual-threat running backs. Swift may not have had massive receiving numbers at Georgia, but he wasn’t asked to very often either.
The Lions are going to be using Swift as a receiver much more moving forward. He will still be asked to be a workhorse running back, but Stafford will need to check down to him quite often.
Swift is more than just an on-the-ground running back. He is going to have an impact through the air as well. Detroit’s offense got a lot better and much more dangerous with the selection of Swift.
