Jimmy G Should Take Another Step
If there was one player on the 49ers’ roster that will improve simply from the experience they received last season, it would be franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
As previously mentioned, there were rumblings that the 49ers could pursue Tom Brady in free agency. When everything was said and done, however, the 49ers had no interest in moving on from Garoppolo. He is their guy long-term and there is no doubt about it anymore.
Last season, Garoppolo ended up completing 69.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,978 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He may not be an “elite” quarterback just yet, but that leap could come in 2020.
There is no question that Garoppolo has the kind of arm that can lead an offense to elite status. A run to the Super Bowl should have him confident heading into 2020. Garoppolo is in line for a big year.
