4. The Vikings still have big play star players
Despite the loss, Minnesota had two huge games from two young playmakers. Having these playmakers could carry this offense. While he has yet to play like it, Kirk Cousins is typically a reliable quarterback.
The offensive line has been awful early on. Without a preseason and very little offseason training, offensive line struggles are expected.
Justin Jefferson could be a star in the making. He has excellent speed, runs very good routes, and has all the tools to be a star wideout. Last week against the Titans, Jefferson had a career game.
The young wideout had over 150 yards in the first three quarters. Many were critical that Jefferson was only a slot receiver. However, after last week’s performance, it’s evident that is true.
While Jefferson was incredible, he wasn’t the only player to post a career high. Vikings running back Dalvin Cook also had a career high 181 rushing yards last week.
Cook is one of the league’s top running backs. If the offense moves more towards a run-first offense, it will limit the early struggles of Cousins, it will help the young Vikings secondary, and the Vikings will be able to control the clock.
