4 teams who should be targeting WR Rondale Moore in the 2021 NFL Draft

Teams throughout the league are desperate for a game changer who can take the top off of defenses. Teams that want an explosive, dynamic receiver should look no further than Purdue junior receiver Rondale Moore in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Moore burst on to the scene in 2018 during his freshman campaign. With 114 receptions, 1,258 yards, and 12 touchdowns, Moore was named the winner of the 2018 Paul Hornung Award.

Unfortunately, Moore missed the majority of the 2019 season due to a hamstring injury. After initially opting out the 2020 season, Moore opted back in after the Big 10’s decision to play ball. He missed Purdue’s first two games, but has been just as dynamic upon his return.

Moore will be taken late day one or early day two. He could help any offense, but which teams need him the most?

New York Jets

The New York Jets have so many needs on the team. With the assumed selection of Trevor Lawrence, the Jets should make their number one priority surrounding Lawrence with as much talent as possible.

Last year, the Jets drafted receiver Denzel Mims in the second round of the NFL Draft. Pairing Moore with Mims and Jamison Crowder would give the Jets one of the most dynamic receiving corps in the entire league and certainly give Lawrence more help than he could want.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts took a risk by signing Philip Rivers. Unfortunately, the Colts’ receiving corps no longer has the Hall of Fame receivers that surrounded Peyton Manning.

While Michael Pittman Jr. has shown promise, T.Y. Hilton has shown regression. The Colts will likely keep Hilton on a short-term deal, it would be wise to pair Rivers with as many weapons as possible.

Rivers does not have the arm strength that he once did, and that makes Rondale Moore an even more obvious choice. Moore is electric in space, and could give Rivers the outlet he needs.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers has never thrown a touchdown pass to a receiver drafted in the first round. Luckily for him, he can make a dumpster look like a good receiver.

After the Packers’ front office committed treason and drafted Rodgers’ replacement at the end of the first round in the 2020 NFL Draft, it is time to surround Rodgers with all the weapons he wants.

Imagine Moore’s speed paired with Rodgers arm. Imagine defensive backs trying to cover Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, and Moore. Needless to say, Rodgers would have a field day.

Philadelphia Eagles

Carson Wentz is taking the brunt of the blame for the poor offensive performance that is the 2020 Eagles. But it isn’t all his fault.

Wentz has literally no help around him. The Eagles tried to select a speedster last year by selecting Jalen Reagor in the first round. Reagor has shown flashes, but hasn’t lived up to his draft stock.

Rondale Moore would give Wentz (or Jalen Hurts) a true weapon. Doug Pederson would love nothing more than to draw up plays for Moore like his mentor Andy Reid draws up plays for Tyreek Hill. Moore could be the answer to the Eagles’ receiving woes.
