49ers: 3 Most Likely Players to Be Traded

Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

1. Wide Receiver Pierre Garçon

The 49ers possession receiver is someone that’s rumored to be in trade discussions. And it’s not hard to see why either.

The 32-year-old veteran is one of the most sure-handed receivers in the league and someone any quarterback would like to have as a security blanket.

The passing offense continues to move in the direction of George Kittle and Marquise Goodwin as the primary targets, it would be best to see Garçon on another team where he’s featured more.

He would be best utilized in a system where he’s the number two guy. Somewhere like Houston where they need someone after Will Fuller’s ACL tear. Or the Dolphins where they’re in the bottom ten in passing and have questions at the receiver position. Maybe even one of the top three teams in the NFC East that could use some energy in the passing game.

Garçon is worth an early-to-mid round pick in the 2019 Draft. And with a contract that has him owed $6 million this year and $5.5 million in 2019, he’s a good target for teams that need a player like him.
