The San Francisco 49ers were given a dose of their own medicine on Monday Night Football by the Baltimore Ravens. After steamrolling their opponents during a six-game winning streak in which they won every game by 12+ points, they were blown out by Baltimore.

The 49ers lost the game 33-19 as the Ravens had their number all night. Lamar Jackson was the quarterback putting together an MVP-level performance, completing 23-of-35 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He added 45 yards on the ground, including a season-high long of 31 yards.

His counterpart, Brock Purdy, struggled against a feisty Ravens defense. Purdy had the worst game of his young career, throwing four interceptions. On top of the rough performance, he suffered an injury for the second consecutive week.

In the fourth quarter, Purdy was hit hard and suffered a stinger. After never having one before Week 15 vs. the Arizona Cardinals, he has now suffered one in back-to-back weeks. Head coach Kyle Shanahan provided an update on the status of his starting quarterback early Tuesday morning.

“You know how stingers are and it could be worse (Tuesday). But I think it’ll be alright,” Shanahan said via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

That will certainly be something to keep an eye on this week in practice. The loss to the Ravens brings the 49ers back to the pack in the NFC when it comes to the race for the No. 1 seed in the postseason. The Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles both won, as there is now a three-way tie at 11-4 atop the conference.

If Purdy is unable to go, the 49ers would turn to backup, Sam Darnold. Darnold was decent in relief on Monday, competing 8-of-14 attempts for 81 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

He isn’t the only injury that the 49ers will be keeping tabs on this week. The offensive line, specifically at tackle, could be in shambles.

Star left tackle Trent Williams was injured against the Ravens and his two backups were hurt in relief of him. Jaylon Moore and Aaron Banks suffered a concussion and toe injury, respectively, putting their availability for Week 17 vs. the Washington Commanders up in the air.
