On Wednesday, the Houston Texans made a significant move to strengthen their position as contenders within the AFC by acquiring wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills in a trade.

Reports indicate that Buffalo received a 2025 second-round pick from Houston, while the Texans obtained a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick for the 2025 draft as part of the agreement.

Following the announcement of the trade, former Texans star J.J. Watt shared his optimism about the team’s future, expressing his confidence in the move.

“The last two off-seasons for the Texans have completely transformed the franchise. DeMeco Ryans, CJ Stroud, Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, Stefon Diggs, etc. Houston is a top tier destination.”

Watt’s sentiment was echoed by another former player, Robert Griffin III, who praised the Texans for their proactive approach in securing Diggs.

Under the guidance of head coach DeMeco Ryans in his inaugural season, the Texans displayed promising performances, advancing to the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.

With the advantage of having C.J. Stroud on a rookie contract, the Texans capitalized on the opportunity to add high-profile players like Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon during the offseason.

As the upcoming season approaches, all eyes will be on the Houston Texans to see how they fare, particularly now that they are no longer flying under the radar but are recognized as serious contenders.
