Titans’ L’Jarius Sneed Dismisses Concerns Over His Knee

The Tennessee Titans acquired cornerback L’Jarius Sneed in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs late last month, but before the Titans bagged Sneed, there were other teams talking with the Chiefs.

One of those clubs was the Minnesota Vikings, who apparently backed out of trade talks due to health concerns.

Those worries probably had something to do with Sneed’s knee, as Tony Pauline of SportsKeeda reported last month that Sneed dealt with a knee injury throughout this past season that prevented him from practicing for long stretches.

That obviously didn’t stop the Titans from surrendering a third-round draft pick for him and then proceeding to hand him a four-year, $76.4 million deal, but the concerns were there, no less.

However, Sneed insists that he is just fine.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with my knees,” Sneed said, via Turron Davenport of ESPN. “I had a couple of problems, a banged-up knee before. But I’m good right now.”

Sneed played in 98 percent of Kansas City’s defensive snaps this past year, so if the issue were truly that severe, he probably would have missed considerable time. Or at least not played nearly every down.

“I feel like I deserve to be the highest-paid off of my season I had last year,” added Sneed. “Things worked out for me and for my family and for the organization, the Tennessee Titans.”

The 27-year-old is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played 16 games and registered 78 tackles, a couple of interceptions, a fumble recovery and 14 passes defended. He did not allow a touchdown all season.

Sneed, who played his collegiate football at Louisiana Tech, was selected by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Kansas City slapped a franchise tag on Sneed before free agency, but the general consensus all along was that the Chiefs would be trading him, especially after re-signing defensive lineman Chris Jones to a monster deal.

Hopefully, L’Jarius Sneed can remain healthy in Tennessee.
