The San Francisco 49ers asserted their standing as arguably the best team in the NFL with a dominant performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13. San Francisco went on the road and picked up a blowout victory, winning the game 42-19 as the Eagles had no answers for their explosive offense and failed to consistently move the ball against their stout defense.

One of the stars of the game for San Francisco was wide receiver, Deebo Samuel. This is a matchup he and a number of his teammates had circled for a while after their disappointing NFC Championship Game in January when Brock Purdy injured his elbow and his backup, Josh Johnson, suffered a concussion.

That left the 49ers without a healthy quarterback in the game and with revenge on their mind after suffering a loss. Samuel took his revenge to another level, calling out Eagles cornerback James Bradberry for weeks. He put his money where his mouth is with one of the best performances of his career.

Samuel caught four passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns while adding three carries for 22 yards and another score. He has remained a big play machine for the 49ers this season and his performance on Sunday drew praise from his teammates.

One of the teammates who spoke highly of Samuel after the game was All-Pro linebacker, Fred Warner. Warner gave Samuel the ultimate compliment after the game for his performance against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

“Deebo is one of the best football players I’ve ever seen,” said Warner in his post game press conference, via 49ers on NBCS on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Performances like that don’t surprise me. It’s only a matter of time when he does kind of pop off like that. People were saying things about things he said before the game, but I think his actions spoke louder than words.”

After suffering a lull, going on a three-game losing streak in the middle of the season, the 49ers have returned to their dominant ways. Two of those games came without Samuel in the lineup, as they have won four in a row since he returned.

Each of those victories has been dominant with the 49ers scoring at least 27 points in all four games and winning them all by at least 13. On the season, San Francisco is now 9-3 with all but one of their victories coming by double-digits.

When guys like Samuel and are healthy and things are clicking, there isn’t a more dominant team in the NFL. The 49ers are Super Bowl favorites in many people’s eyes right now and rightfully so.
