2. Minshew Mania Continues
Before the season even began, it seemed predetermined that the Jaguars would be the worst team in the league. This means they would get the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and select Trevor Lawrence. This means that Minshew would act as a placeholder for 2020. Not so fast.
Minshew turned in an excellent performance against the Colts in Week 1. Against the Titans, Minshew went 30-45 for 339 yards while leading his team back. He added three touchdowns but did have two interceptions including one on the Jaguars’ final drive of the game. This cannot dismiss his performance in Week 2.
Minshew has looked like a legitimate threat through the air. He spreads the ball around well and is using his weapons in different ways.
There is obviously still a chance that the Jaguars get a top two pick and select either Lawrence or Justin Fields. However, it has become obvious that Minshew is not just going to let that happen and go through the motions this season.
