Back in Week 11, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews suffered and ankle injury during the team’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and the long-term prognosis wasn’t great.

It was accepted that Andrews would be out for the remainder of the regular season, but there also seemed to be only a slim chance that he would return for the playoffs.

Well, the Ravens designated the star pass-catcher to return from the injured reserve list shortly before the Divisional Round, and now, they have officially activated him for the AFC Championship Game.

Andrews says he “can’t tell you how excited” he is to be back on the field and that he is “going to help this team any way I can.”

The silver lining is that in Andrews’ absence, young tight end Isaiah Likely stepped up, and now, Baltimore will have two terrific tight ends in its arsenal against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“It’s dangerous,” Andrews said of the Ravens’ tight end tandem, via Ryan Mink of Baltimore’s official team website. “Obviously, adding him and I to a tandem, doing our thing, it’s going to be fun. I’m excited to see how it turns out.”

Andrews played in 10 games during the regular season, logging 45 catches for 544 yards and six touchdowns.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was selected by the Ravens in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He entered the league the same year as Lamar Jackson, and that season, Jackson became the starting quarterback midway through. Andrews instantly became Jackson’s favorite target and has been his go-to guy ever since.

Mark Andrews has made three trips to the Pro Bowl throughout his career, with his best season coming in 2021 when he hauled in 107 receptions for 1,361 yards and nine scores.
