The Baltimore Ravens are off to an impressive 3-1 start, and some have been talking about them being a dark-horse contender for a Super Bowl appearance this winter. It has come not too long after it looked like their chances of merely staying relevant were in peril. Could they look to add more firepower via a trade for Jerry Jeudy with the Denver Broncos?
Quarterback Lamar Jackson had been asking for a huge contract extension for many months, but to no avail. It looked like he was about to leave Baltimore, especially when the team used its non-exclusive franchise tag on him, which allowed him to negotiate a deal with another team of his choice.
But armed with a new five-year, $260 million deal, Jackson is playing well and efficiently, both in the air and on the ground. He has completed 74.3 percent of his pass attempts and contributed 220 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
Jackson has a new wide receiver target in rookie stud Zay Flowers, but the Ravens are one more stud at wide receiver short of being a true contender.
The Denver Broncos, who are 1-3 and won their lone game by just three points against the woeful Chicago Bears, could possibly be persuaded to part with one or two of their key players. One of those players could be wideout Jerry Jeudy.
Would the Ravens be able to obtain Jeudy with the following package?
Ravens Receive: Jerry Jeudy
Broncos Receive: 2024 Second-Round Pick, 2024 Fourth-Round Pick
This deal would somewhat help Denver recoup the massive draft capital it hard to part with to acquire future Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson prior to last season. Meanwhile, it would give the Ravens a playmaker who put up 972 yards and six touchdowns last season.
Jeudy may not be a prime candidate for the Pro Bowl, but he is 24 years of age, and perhaps getting out of the mess Denver has become and putting himself in a healthier winning situation would give him a bump in his production.
