Bills Linked To Three Highly Impactful Trade Targets

The Buffalo Bills have not come close to performing up to expectations during the 2023 season. There was a three-week stretch earlier where they looked like their regular selves, scoring 37+ points in three straight games. But, those performances looked more like the outlier not the norm.

In the three weeks since, the most points the Bills have scored is 25 and they have gone 1-2. They are lucky to have even one victory, as it came over the New York Giants, who were one or two miscues away from stealing a road win.

While Buffalo ranks in the top five offensively in yards and points scored, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to upgrade the skill positions around Josh Allen. The running game has been inconsistent at times and the pass catchers behind Stefon Diggs haven’t stepped up either.

With only a few days until the trade deadline, time is of the essence for the Bills. Over at ClutchPoints, a few suggestions were made for upgrades at their skill positions. The first is wide receiver Hunter Renfrow of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders have been looking to trade Renfrow for months, but his contract isn’t the easiest to move. It wasn’t very long ago that he was a Pro Bowl receiver, catching triple-digit passes and surpassing the 1,000-yard mark. He would be a great fit for the Bills as a possession slot receiver to take some pressure off of Diggs.

Another pass catcher the team could look into acquiring is Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos. It would be shocking at this point if Denver didn’t become sellers at the deadline as they are 2-5 without much hope of turning things around.

Like Renfrow, Juedy would provide the Bills with a capable possession receiver out of the slot who can consistently make plays. Consistency is the issue with their current crop of receivers as Gabe Davis is a boom-or-bust touchdown-reliant player and tight end Dalton Kincaid hasn’t had the impact many thought he would.

Last but not least, the Bills should consider finding an upgrade for their backfield. Someone such as Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans would fit the bill. Henry would provide Buffalo with someone to lean on heavily in the running game, something they haven’t had with Allen as quarterback.

We have seen Henry is capable of carrying an offense by himself, but with the Bills, he would just have to be a complementary piece to Allen. Having a player of Henry’s caliber would help them in close games as you can hand him the ball and watch him drain the clock in the fourth quarter.
