The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to keep their playoff hopes alive with a 21-18 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 13. Despite being 5-7 on the season, Tampa Bay is only one game behind the Atlanta Falcons, who are 6-6, for first place in the NFC South.
Those teams are on a collision course for each other as the Buccaneers will be starting a two-game road trip with a visit to Atlanta in Week 14. If Tampa Bay is going to pick up a win and move into a tie, they will need Baker Mayfield to play at a high level.
Mayfield struggled against his old team on Sunday, completing only 14-of-29 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The team was victorious, which at the end of the day, is what matters most.

Also, people will be willing to cut him a little more slack given the major announcement that he recently made. Mayfield and his wife Emily announced that they are expecting a baby girl in April of 2024 on Monday.
“We’ve been hiding a little something…….” the post read. “But we are THRILLED to share that baby girl Mayfield will be joining our crazy crew in early April 2024!”
It was something that drew the kind of positive reactions you don’t always see from competitors who face off every Sunday afternoon. One of his former Cleveland Browns teammates, cornerback Denzel Ward, sent well wishes in the comments section. As did Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, amongst others.
The couple have been married since 2019 and were introduced to each other in 2017. This will be their first child together, which makes for some exciting times in the Mayfield household. Hopefully, those good vibes can follow him onto the field as he is looking to lead the Buccaneers to the postseason for the fourth straight season.
