Bills Trade For Titans’ Derrick Henry In Bold Proposal

The Derrick Henry era for the Tennessee Titans may finally be coming to a close. And it could end with a trade to a team like the Buffalo Bills.

The Titans have gotten off to a 2-4 start this season and have not resembled anything remotely close to contenders, and with the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline looming, they may start trying to move some pieces.

Could they move Henry?

It sounds unthinkable, as the star running back has spent his entire eight-year career in Tennessee and has stamped his name among the elite offensive players in the league throughout his tenure.

However, Henry is 29 years old and is set to be a free agent at the end of the year. With the Titans seeming primed to enter rebuilding mode this offseason, Henry will probably find himself playing elsewhere in 2024 regardless.

So, Tennessee may be better off trading him now to recoup some value before losing him for nothing in the spring.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay thinks the Buffalo Bills could represent a fine landing spot for Henry and suggests that the Bills trade fellow halfback Latavius Murray, a 2024 second-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder to the Titans in exchange for the three-time Pro Bowler.

Buffalo has a decent rushing attack in its own right, ranking 12th in the league in that category. James Cook has done a fine job as the lead back, and Murray has been solid as the No. 2.

But imagine how much better the Bills’ ground game would be with Henry in the fold?

Derrick Henry may not be the same 2,000-yard back from several years ago, but he is still very productive. Through the first six games of 2023, he has rushed for 425 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry.

Buffalo is 4-2 this season and will host the New England Patriots next Sunday.
