Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young put together his most impressive performance of the season this past Sunday, and wide receiver Adam Thielen loved what he saw from the rookie.

“Man, impressive,” Thielen said, via Kassidy Hill of the Panthers’ official team website. “Really the stuff that I saw and a lot of us saw in OTAs, training camp. Just that confidence, that kind of attitude. And then, you collectively make some plays for him, and watch out, he’s got the hot hand, as we say. So, obviously super impressive and excited to build on that.”

Young went 23-for-36 with 312 yards and a couple of touchdowns while carrying the ball four times for 17 yards in what ended up being a 33-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

On the season overall, Young has thrown for 2,671 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 59.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 75.2 in what has been a rather tough debut campaign for the youngster.

Between Weeks 8 and 14, Young only posted a passer rating of 70 or better twice, finishing below 50 on two separate occasions.

The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was selected by the Panthers with the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft back in the spring.

Fellow wide out DJ Chark agreed with Thielen’s assessment of Young and went as far to say that Young would soon be one of the best quarterbacks in football.

“There’s so much more to come,” Chark said. “He’s making plays, he’s comfortable, but that’s who we know him to be, at least in this locker room. We do, we believed in him the whole way through. Three, four or five years from now, he’s gonna be definitely at the top, if not one of the top QBs.”

Young found both Thielen and Chark quite a bit this past weekend, as he hit Thielen six times for 94 yards and connected with Chark six times for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Carolina fell to 2-13 with the loss to the Packers, but it could certainly walk away with a moral victory thanks to Bryce Young’s outing.

The Panthers will head on the road to battle the Jacksonville Jaguars next weekend before returning home to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Jan. 7.
