The Kansas City Chiefs are red hot to start the 2018 season. Now they host the 1-1 San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 and will need to pull off a home win to keep the momentum up.
Week 3 of the NFL season is officially underway, and the Kansas City Chiefs get their 2018 home opener after pulling off two offensively impressive wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively. The Steelers have been a roadblock in the Chiefs path over the last several years. Kansas City has lost its last three matchups with Pittsburgh, including being eliminated in the divisional round of the playoffs in one of those games.
So pulling off that win in Pittsburgh was pretty impressive.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been on fire to start the season, currently leading the NFL with 10 passing touchdowns, including six in Week 2. Now, Mahomes and the Chiefs get to host the visiting San Francisco 49ers, who are 1-1 on the season and have some serious question marks in their secondary.
To prove they’re true contenders in the AFC, the Chiefs need to keep up the momentum and beat San Francisco. Wins on the road have been impressive. Now it’s about handling business at home.
First, turn this game into a full on shootout. Next, when the turnover battle. Finally, dominate the trenches on both offense and defense.
