Back in March 2022, the Kansas City Chiefs traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in a blockbuster deal that sent five draft picks—including a first-rounder—back to the Chiefs.

Hill will be facing his old Kansas City teammates this coming weekend when the Dolphins travel to Germany, and ahead of the Week 9 clash, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt said he believed the deal was a win for everyone involved.

“I think that was a trade that worked out well for both parties,” Hunt said Tuesday, via Grant Gordon of NFL.com. “Obviously, Tyreek is an incredible player and has done very well in his time with the Dolphins.”

Hill, who played his collegiate football at West Alabama, was originally selected by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He spent the first six years of his career with the Chiefs, making the Pro Bowl every season and also earning three First-Team All-Pro selections. Most importantly, Hill helped lead the Chiefs to two Super Bowl appearances and a championship.

Kansas City used the draft picks it received in the package to take players such as cornerback Trent McDuffie (whom the Chiefs traded up to get) and wide out Skyy Moore.

While neither of those guys have made quite the impact that Hill has made on Miami, Hunt is still happy with the way things have played out.

“I think this year we are seeing that it did indeed work out well,” Hunt said.

Hill hauled in 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns during his first year in South Beach, making yet another Pro Bowl and notching First-Team All-Pro honors.

Through eight games this season, the 29-year-old leads the NFL in both receiving yards (1,014) and receiving scores (eight). He is currently on pace to set the single-season record for receiving yards.

You can catch Tyreek Hill take on his former club at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.
