The Colts know that they are going to get a much more aggressive quarterback this season than they had last. That was part of the problem with Brissett. He was a patient quarterback, but he was too patient.

Philip Rivers is the kind of leader that gets the most out of his teammates and trusts them implicitly. He will hold his teammates accountable and will hold himself accountable as well. The Colts will take a lot more shots down the field and what better time to do so than Week 1?

While the Jaguars don’t have a horrible defense, they certainly don’t have a great one either. Jalen Ramsey is no longer in town and neither is Yannick Ngakoue. Rivers has a big chance to put together a masterful performance.

Here are three bold predictions for Rivers this week.

3. Rivers Will Not Turn The Football Over

One of the big concerns for some fans in Indianapolis was the fact that he threw 20 interceptions last season. What should be noted, however, is that Rivers was also playing behind a porous offensive line. Indianapolis has one of the best offensive lines in football and Rivers will not turn the football over in his debut.

2. At Least 350 Yards and Three Touchdown Passes

Due to the Jaguars not having a great defense, Rivers should have himself a nice day. Throwing for 350 yards and three scores in his Colts’ debut is absolutely the definition of a “nice day.” Rivers will torch the Jacksonville secondary and will turn some heads with his performance.

1. He Will Lead The Colts To Victory In His Debut

Finally, the most important statistic that Rivers cares about is the result of the game. The Colts are not going to lose this one, even though they are on the road. Indianapolis will take this game by a final score of 35-17 and Rivers will make a statement that he is the missing piece for the Colts’ offense.
