The Indianapolis Colts are set for a key Week 12 matchup at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shane Steichen and company are very much in the AFC playoff picture with a 5-5 record, but need to string a few wins together to become a legitimate contender. On the outside looking in, the roster is talented enough to make some noise, but now it’s time to prove it on the field.

Gardner Minshew has taken over as the full-time starter in Indy due to a season-ending injury suffered by rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. The offense has looked inconsistent at times, but the defense has stepped up quite a bit.

Prior to this Week 12 matchup, the Colts made the shocking decision to release former All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard. It was a move that shocked the NFL, but Indianapolis isn’t playing any games. They’re looking to compete and they’re looking to do it now.

Coming into this week’s game, the Colts revealed three major injury updates for the matchup. They will be without tight end Drew Ogletree, center Ryan Kelly, and cornerback JuJu Brents.

All three of those players have played a role this season. They are all key pieces that will be greatly missed.

Taking a closer look at this game, the Colts’ defense will be tasked with slowing down Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans in particular. That has been easier said than done for opposing defenses. Brents was a major bright spot for the Colts’ defense before going down with injury.

On the offensive side of the ball, Kelly has missed time due to injury, but is a key part of the offensive line. Ogletree has played well when on the field, but thankfully the Colts have Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox available at the tight end position.

Make sure to tune into this game at 1:00 p.m. EST on CBS to see whether the Colts can pull off a big-time win to move to 6-5 on the season. It’s certainly a game that they need to have as they chase the playoffs.
