The Dallas Cowboys suffered a shocking defeat in Week 3 at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals. It was their first game without star cornerback Trevon Diggs, who tore his ACL during practice leading up to the game.

That is a big loss to overcome as Diggs was a key component to their game plan defensively. In their first game without him, the team struggled as Joshua Dobbs made all the plays he needed to, whether it was through the air or with his legs.

While there are some concerns defensively without Diggs, as long as the team still has Micah Parsons active, things should be okay on that side of the ball. The biggest concern for the Cowboys right now is their offense, namely in the red zone.

Dallas is struggling mightily in the red zone, scoring a touchdown on only 40 percent of their trips there. Head coach Mike McCarthy needs to figure out a way to get more efficient in that area of the field, as his play-calling has left a lot to be desired.

For anyone wondering, the person he replaced, Kellen Moore, is now the offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Chargers and they are second in red zone scoring efficiency. The losses of running back Ezekiel Elliott and tight end Dalton Schultz, their go-to weapons in the red zone the last few years, certainly hurt.

Looking to find some better production, NFL analyst and former quarterback Robert Griffin II suggested the Cowboys go out and make a trade. During a recent appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Griffin suggested that Dallas attempt to trade for Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts.

Pitts is being criminally underutilized with the Falcons. Head coach Arthur Smith is not taking advantage of the matchup nightmare Pitts can be, using him a ton as a blocker and decoy in the passing game.

The No. 4 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft is the bane of many Fantasy Football managers’ existence. Oozing with tantalizing potential that is on display weekly, Pitts would likely welcome a change of scenery to a team that would better utilize his unique blend of size and athleticism in the passing game.

The Cowboys would be a team capable of unlocking that potential. Adding him to a pass-catching group that already includes CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Michael Gallup and Jake Ferguson would certainly help the team improve their efficiency in the red zone.
