Cowboys Could Consider Trade For Hollywood Brown?

After winning their first two games and three of their first four in dominant fashion, the Dallas Cowboys have been humbled and brought down to earth. They lost to the Arizona Cardinals, a team that was expected to be in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes, 28-16, and in Week 5 they got humiliated by the San Francisco 49ers 42-10.

Although they managed to get a victory on Monday against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Cowboys didn’t exactly look impressive in doing so, as they scored only 20 points. They rank just 19th in passing yards and touchdowns on the season, and while wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been burning it up so far, none of their other players have as many as 210 receiving yards.

Since the Cardinals are 1-5 and have nothing to play for, Sayre Bedinger of FanSided suggests Dallas should go after wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown via trade.

“If the Cardinals are open to trading Hollywood Brown, perhaps he could come in and help give the Cowboys a true secondary weapon,” wrote Bedinger.

Brown has put up 334 receiving yards and three touchdowns so far this season. His high-water mark came two years ago when he registered 1,008 yards and six touchdowns while playing with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

While Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott may have been exposed as lacking the qualities needed to be an elite quarterback, some added support wouldn’t hurt. Brandin Cooks, who was acquired via trade in March, was supposed to be the team’s legitimate No. 2 wideout, but he has mustered just 13 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown this year.

Cowboys fans have grown very impatient and frustrated over the team’s lack of success over the years despite often possessing ample talent. It hasn’t won the Super Bowl since the 1995 season, and it hasn’t even gotten to the NFC Championship Game since then.

It is time for the Cowboys to be bold rather than count on their existing talent to get the job done.
