The Dallas Cowboys are set to undergo a significant coaching change during this offseason, though it might not be the change fans were anticipating following their early exit from the playoffs.

Mike McCarthy will retain his position as the head coach for at least another year, but there is a crucial vacancy to fill at the defensive coordinator position.

Dan Quinn, who had been at the helm of one of the league’s most formidable defenses, has departed to take on the head coaching role with the Washington Commanders.

Interestingly, one of the standout players on the Cowboys’ defense has a clear preference for the team’s new defensive coordinator.

This star defensive back has endorsed the Cowboys’ current defensive backs coach as the ideal candidate to succeed Quinn.

Since joining the Cowboys’ coaching staff in 2020, Harris has made a notable impact, having previously worked with the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Under his guidance, the Cowboys have emerged as one of the NFL’s premier teams in forcing turnovers. Players like Diggs and DaRon Bland have topped the league in interceptions during Harris’s tenure.

Harris also boasts an impressive playing career, having earned two Pro Bowl selections and a spot on one All-Pro team. He is perhaps best remembered for his time with the Green Bay Packers, who even awarded him a championship ring when they secured victory in the 2010 Super Bowl, a few months after he was waived.

While the Cowboys are on the hunt for a new defensive coordinator, Diggs firmly believes that the best candidate for the role is already within the organization, with Harris standing out as the prime choice.
