The Dallas Cowboys are in need of some help in their secondary, and Dallas Robinson of Pro Football Network sees a potential solution: Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas.

Robinson proposes that the Cowboys send a 2024 fifth-round draft pick to the Packers in exchange for Douglas ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline, which would help assuage Dallas’ need for some more depth in its defensive backfield.

The Cowboys took a gigantic hit at cornerback earlier this season when Trevon Diggs went down with a torn ACL. Ever since then, fans and media pundits have been speculating as to whether or not Dallas will make a move to address its questionable secondary before the end of October.

Douglas isn’t a flashy talent by any means, but he is serviceable, and again, he would at least provide the Cowboys with depth at the position.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at West Virginia, was originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Douglas spent the first three years of his career with the Eagles and was a key part of their cornerback rotation. He also helped Philadelphia win a Super Bowl during his rookie campaign.

After his tenure in Philly, Douglas landed with the Carolina Panthers for one season before linking up with the Packers in 2021.

Green Bay is just 2-4 thus far this season, having lost three straight games. With the Packers’ playoff hopes fading, it’s entirely possible that they could look to sell off some pieces before the deadline, and Douglas could absolutely be a casualty.

Through six games in 2023, Rasul Douglas has logged 27 tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and six passes defended.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 4-2 and look like they need to add some more pieces in order to truly challenge the Eagles in the NFC East.
