However, former NFL star wide receiver James Jones raised a pertinent concern about Williams during his appearance on FS1’s “Speak”: the prevalence of “off-schedule” plays in Williams’ college performance, deviating from his team’s planned strategies.
While Williams’ improvisational skills are commendable, overreliance on them can pose risks.
Jones emphasized that with talented wide receivers like DJ Moore and Keenan Allen on the Bears’ roster, Williams won’t need to shoulder the entire offensive burden.

Hopefully, the Bears finally have their long-term franchise quarterback that they have been searching for so long. If Caleb Williams is a bust, trading Justin Fields is a move that they’ll be ripped apart for if he finds success in Pittsburgh.
