Indianapolis Colts superstar running back Jonathan Taylor has become the main story around the NFL over the last week. After a long offseason standoff with the franchise over his contract situation, the Colts gave Taylor permission to seek out a trade. One team that has been mentioned as a potential suitor has been the Denver Broncos.

While the Broncos have been talked about as a potential trade destination, they are far from the only team interested. Other teams include the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Taylor would certainly make sense for Denver. Sean Payton had been very vocal early on in the offseason about his interest in Las Vegas Raiders’ star running back Josh Jacobs. Adding a talent like Taylor would help take Russell Wilson and the offense to another level.

ClutchPoints recently came out and suggested a “perfect” trade that would send Taylor to the Broncos.

Broncos receive: Jonathan Taylor

Colts receive: Javonte Williams, 2024 4th Round Pick, 2024 5th Round Pick

Taking a brief look at the trade, the Broncos would pull the trigger without even thinking twice. Not even having to give up a pick in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft would be perfect. Giving up Williams wouldn’t be a dealbreaker by any stretch either, especially since he’s coming off of a serious injury.

On the flip-side of the deal, the Colts would likely not even consider the offer. They want a first-round pick or equal value. If Williams hadn’t gotten hurt last season or had proven that he is 100 percent back and fully healthy, this trade could make much more sense.

Now, there is a way for the two sides to get something done. If the Broncos were to offer Williams and a 2024 third-round pick, along with a 2025 third-round pick, a deal would make much more sense for Indianapolis. It’s no guarantee that the Colts would accept the offer, but it’s a much better all-around trade.

Only time will tell what the outcome of Jonathan Taylor’s situation with the Colts will be. However, the Broncos are certainly a team to keep a close eye on in the coming days.
