2. Alshon Jeffery
This is a deal that would be hard to finagle now. It seems like trading Alshon Jeffery would have been most possible during the draft but it would still benefit the Eagles no matter when. Jeffery is currently injured and will not be ready for the beginning of the 2020 season.
There is a chance that Jeffery gets on the field in September but he will not be ready when the Eagles take on Washington in less than two weeks. Philadelphia has other options. DeSean Jackson is healthy heading into the season.
Young options like Greg Ward and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside are expected to step up in 2020. The Eagles drafted Jalen Reagor in the first round of the draft. Reagor’s status for Week 1 is also up in the air because of a shoulder injury.
Jeffery is set to make a ton of money over the next two years. He will carry a cap hit of $15.4 million in 2020 and $18.4 million in 2021. The Eagles will have to find a way to restructure his contract if he remains on the roster. If not, there has to be some teams looking for a veteran receiver. Will it be difficult? Sure, but it is worth it for the Eagles to make some calls.
