In Week 11, the Philadelphia Eagles went on the road and defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 21-17 for an impressive victory on Monday Night Football. In Week 12, they picked up another statement win, defeating the Buffalo Bills 37-34 in overtime.

It was a game the Eagles had to show a lot of grit and toughness. The weather conditions were brutal to deal with, as heavy rain poured down on them throughout the contest. Philadelphia’s offense was stuck in neutral for over half of the game before Jalen Hurts helped kick things into gear.

He was contributing to the struggles early on, turning the ball over twice. But, he eventually got things going, helping lead the Eagles to their 10th victory of the season. He capped things off with a 16-yard touchdown run in overtime after the Bills failed to score a touchdown on their possession, instead settling for a field goal.

It was a record-setting performance for Hurts and his star counterpart, Bills quarterback Josh Allen. They became the first opposing quarterbacks to each throw and run for multiple scores in the same game in NFL history in a matchup that became an instant classic.

After the game, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham praised Hurts’ performance. He compared his late-game heroics to those of future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, hoping his quarterback gets mentioned in that category sooner than later.

“They always talk about Tom Brady,” Graham told reporters following Sunday’s 37-34 overtime win over the Bills, in comeback fashion. “With the drives at the end, I’m hoping Jalen starts getting that name. I’m happy that he went out there, finished the deal, and had a game-winning drive.”

Comparing anyone to Brady will always raise eyebrows as many consider him to be the greatest quarterback of all time. But, Hurts is certainly making a name for himself, coming up biggest when the lights are brightest and his team needs him the most.

While his resume is far from being complete, Hurts has put together some memorable performances. He has four game-winning drives this season, which leads the NFL, and three fourth-quarter comebacks. In his career, he has eight and six, respectively, as the Eagles wouldn’t be where they are right now without him under center.
