Le’Veon Bell
For a few years, during his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Le’Veon Bell was once considered the best dual-threat running back in the NFL. However, that all changed following his year-long holdout and decision to sign with the New York Jets in 2019.
In three out of his final four years in Pittsburgh, Bell accounted for 1,800+ yards from scrimmage and 9+ touchdowns. Fast forward to 2019 and as he ran behind New York’s putrid offensive line, Bell finished with career-lows in scrimmage yards (1,250), yards per touch (4), and total touchdowns (4), in years where he started in more than six games.
On a positive note, the Jets did improve the offensive line, adding Connor McGovern, Greg Van Roten, George Fant, and rookie Mekhi Becton throughout the offseason. If the Jets’ revamped offensive line can hold up and Sam Darnold can show some improvement under center, Bell should easily be able to outdo his 2019 self in 2020. Considering where he’s currently going in fantasy football drafts, Bell could be a great value at the running back position.
