Leonard Fournette
Following the end of the 2019 season, there was speculation that the Jacksonville Jaguars could trade Leonard Fournette. Despite the team’s efforts to trade him before and during the 2020 NFL Draft, Fournette will assume his role as the No. 1 running back for the Jaguars again.
Yes, his future with Jacksonville is murky and he’s had some injury concerns in his career thus far. But with no other starting-caliber running backs on the roster, Fournette should handle a heavy workload again in 2020. While rushing for a career-best 1,152 yards last season, he managed to score just three touchdowns. That was more than five times less the number of touchdowns he scored in his first two seasons combined.
Amid his struggles to find the end zone, Fournette was utilized more as a receiver. The LSU product would catch 76 passes for 522 yards in 2019. With that being said, veteran Chris Thompson and Ryquell Armstead could vulture some targets in Jacksonville’s aerial attack this season. At the least, Fournette should find himself scrounging up more than three touchdowns this season despite his wavering status with the Jaguars. Even though he isn’t the most explosive runner, Fournette is worth taking in fantasy football for the right price in 2020 due to his presumed heightened chances to find the end zone.
