Projections For Mahomes Seem Low

It may sound a bit crazy to say that an outlet like ESPN projected a player to score 332.61 points in fantasy football is low, but that appears to be the case with Patrick Mahomes.

The stat line ESPN projects Mahomes to provide the Kansas City Chiefs involves totals of 4,464 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Additionally, 280 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

It seems low considering Mahomes was on pace for 4,606.9 pasing yards and 29.7 touchdown passes even when factoring in the Week 7 performance against the Denver Broncos where he left early due to injury. He threw only 11 pass attempts in that game.

It’s difficult to envision a completely healthy Patrick Mahomes with a full offseason to counter the adjustments opposing teams made against him would end with just 32 passing touchdowns. This is the same guy that threw 50 in his MVP season.
