According to Fantasy Pros, Rodgers projects as the 86th best overall fantasy player this season, and the majority of the fantasy experts at Fantasy Pros believe he’ll be the tenth best fantasy quarterback in 2020.

This is a fair assessment for sure. There’s always a chance he exceeds these expectations, even though his front office did little to help him this offseason. Throughout his career, Rodgers has thrown 364 touchdowns in his career and only one of those touchdowns was thrown to a player who was drafted in the first round. So, throwing to subpar talent is nothing new for Rodgers.

But, with the way the draft unfolded for the Packers, one thing seemed pretty clear: head coach Matt LaFleur wants to put a heavy emphasis on the running game.

With the running back and tight end hybrid picks aside, the team also took three offensive lineman, a clear signal that LaFleur wants to implement a ground and pound approach.

In this run first offense that Rodgers suddenly finds himself in, it’s hard to envision him having a great year statistically. He may end up with a winning record at season’s end, but it won’t be because he lit it up through the air.
