Let’s be honest here, Ryan Tannehill put together an amazing season with the Titans in 2019, but there are a ton of reasons to be leery of him.
Up until last season, Tannehill had been a major bust with the Miami Dolphins. Whether it was injuries or inconsistent play, he could never put things together. A change of scenery may have opened up his full skill-set, but he could end up reverting back to being a disappointment.
Rivers, on the other hand, is coming off of a rough season that saw him throw 17 interceptions. Moving to the Colts is exactly what the doctor ordered for him, as he’ll have an elite offensive line protecting him. That line will help his Fantasy Football production skyrocket.
Looking at the weapons for each of these quarterbacks, the obvious choice would be Rivers. Indianapolis has provided him with T.Y. Hilton, Michael Pittman Jr., Zach Pascal, Parris Campbell, Jack Doyle, and Trey Burton. Marlon Mack is also a solid running back and Nyheim Hines is an electrifying receiving back.
Tennessee, on the other hand, has Corey Davis, A.J. Brown, Adam Humphries, and Jonnu Smith. They aren’t bad targets, but outside of Brown, they don’t have elite potential.
For Fantasy Football players, the choice is clear. If you have to choose between Rivers or Tannehill, Rivers would be the safe bet. He has a long track record of putting up huge Fantasy Football production and he has the better team surrounding him.
Tannehill isn’t a horrible target, but there are many better options. Rivers and Tannehill could end up being very similar, but the ceiling is much higher for Rivers with the Colts.
