Tight Ends
Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots), Fantasy Points Last Season: 227.4
What’s not to like about Rob Gronkowski? The guy is hilarious and a very talented player as well. Gronk will be and should be the only TE taken in the first few rounds. He finished with 69 (his favorite number) receptions, 1,084 yards and 8 touchdowns last year. He’s essentially a TE putting up WR numbers. The only reason you wouldn’t take Gronk is that he has missed 12 games the past two years, so injury is definitely a risk that comes with taking him.
Jimmy Graham (Green Bay Packers), Fantasy Points Last Season: 171
Jimmy Graham found a new home in Green Bay this season. Personally, I don’t think he ever fit the Seahawks offensive scheme. Now Graham gets Aaron Rodgers as his QB, in an offense that loves to use their TEs in the passing game. Sign me up. Graham looked back to his old self the latter part of last season. Just like Gronk though, injuries can hinder Graham from reaching his full potential.
Zach Ertz (Philadelphia Eagles), Fantasy Points Last Season: 202.4
Zach Ertz has become the Eagles’ security blanket on offense. The only reason I have Ertz ahead of a guy like Travis Kelce is because it’s unknown what Patrick Mahomes will do as the starting QB for the Chiefs. Ertz was the third highest scoring TE last year, only trailing Gronkowski and Kelce. With Carson Wentz back, Ertz should replicate similar numbers to last year.
