With the 2023 NFL season right around the corner, the Green Bay Packers are hoping to prove a lot of critics wrong on the field. After trading away superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, no one is giving them a chance to be a contender in the NFC. Despite that fact, the Packers have remained confident in the roster they have put together around young quarterback Jordan Love.

Brian Gutekunst and the Packers’ front office have been very focused on building the defensive side of the ball. A big piece of that is star linebacker De’Vondre Campbell.

Last season, Campbell struggled with nagging injury issues. Heading into 2023, the Packers are hoping to see him get back to being one of the NFL’s elite middle linebackers.

In a recent quote, Campbell opened up and provided a major update on his health status. It was something that fans in Green Bay were desperate to hear.

“I was just hitting my stride this game starting to feel like myself after dealing with a nagging shoulder that I never told anyone about and then I injured my knee the next game in Buffalo . I never question Gods plan but I’m feeling 100% healthy and everyone gotta deal with me,” Campbell said.

That is music to Packers’ fans ears. Campbell has become an integral piece of the defense, both from a performance perspective and a leadership perspective as well. Having him back to full health is a must for Green Bay heading into the 2023 season.

During the 2022 campaign, Campbell ended up playing in 13 games. He racked up 96 total tackles to go along with two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and three defended passes. Back in 2021, he amassed 146 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three interceptions, and five defended passes.

Those numbers show how much of an impact Campbell is capable of making for the Packers. Getting him back to full health will take the Green Bay defense to another level.

Expect to see Campbell back fully healthy and looking to make a statement this season. The Packers are very confident in him returning to superstar form and it sounds like the man himself is ready to live up to those expectations.
