Packers May Try To Pull Off Blockbuster Trade With Broncos

The Green Bay Packers are entering their Monday night matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders at 2-2. While they appear to have enough pieces to contend for a playoff spot, it’s also abundantly clear that the Packers have some holes that need patching. Could they look to pull off a major trade with the Denver Broncos in the near future?

Offensive line is one of their weaknesses.

Long-time left tackle David Bakhtiari will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery, leaving a sizable gap on the left side of the line.

Luckily, Green Bay has between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline to address the issue. Still, every game in the NFL is precious, so the Packers need to act quickly.

Could the Broncos have the answer?

The Broncos fell to 1-4 after their loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, and the general consensus is that they will attempt to sell off some pieces in the coming weeks.

Offensive tackle Garett Bolles certainly seems to be a trade candidate, and if Denver does place him on the trade block, Green Bay should instantly inquire about his services.

While Bolles has never made a Pro Bowl since entering the league as a first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2017, he was named a Second-Team All-Pro in 2020 and has been a solid tackle his entire career.

Given Bakhtiari’s shaky health over the past few seasons, it stands to reason that the Packers may not only be looking for a replacement this year, but for the future, as well. After all, Bakhtiari has played in a grand total of 25 games since 2020 and is a candidate to be cut this offseason.

Bolles can represent the potential Bakhtiari replacement for Green Bay. He has another year left on his deal after this season, and while he isn’t exactly young at 31 years old, he isn’t old, either.
