The Green Bay Packers appear to have found their franchise quarterback in Jordan Love. That much we know. However, what’s behind Love is pretty questionable.
Right now, Sean Clifford is the backup quarterback on the Packers’ depth chart, and while Green Bay seems to like him, there is no doubt that the team could use some insurance at the position.
That’s why there is some buzz building toward the Packers potentially selecting a signal-caller in the later rounds of this year’s NFL Draft, and Bill Huber of Packer Central has offered a pretty interesting suggestion: South Alabama quarterback Carter Bradley.
Bradley is absolutely not on anyone’s radar. As a matter of fact, the youngster was not even invited to the NFL Scouting Combine back in February.
But Huber seems to like Bradley as a possible seventh-round draft pick.
Huber likes Bradley’s size, and he also credited his throwing accuracy.
Bradley is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he threw for 2,660 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 67.8 percent of his passes.
The 24-year-old spent four years at Toledo but received very little playing time before transferring to South Alabama in 2022.
He immediately became the starter for the Jaguars, totaling 3,335 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 picks while completing 64.7 percent of his throws during his debut season there.
If Green Bay does want Bradley, he may very well be available in the later rounds. We’ll see if Huber is right in his assessment of the Packers possibly going in that direction.
