With Week 1 action right around the corner, the Green Bay Packers are hoping to start strong against the division rival Chicago Bears. Jordan Love will be making his first start in the post-Aaron Rodgers era and fans could not be more ready to get the season underway. It has been a long and tough offseason for Green Bay fans, but simply having football back will help ease some of the pain.

Despite Rodgers leaving town and the Packers no longer being viewed as a serious contender, fans have a renewed energy about them. While Rodgers was without a doubt the best player in franchise history, his antics had gotten old over the last few years.

Starting the season off with a win would be a huge step in the right direction for Love and the Packers. Unfortunately, there is a major injury concern hanging in the balance at this point in time.

Romeo Doubs missed the Packers’ last preseason game due to a hamstring injury. So far, there has been no positive update about his status for Week 1 against the Bears.

“Packers head coach Matt LaFleur refused to comment on Doubs’ health status after Doubs missed practice on Wednesday, per ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. Doubs missed the Packers’ final preseason game due to his hamstring issue with the team erring on the side of caution. Hamstring injuries are notoriously fickle, and it’s difficult to predict whether the 2022 fourth-rounder will be ready to go for Week 1.”

All offseason long, the Packers’ media has raved about the connection that Love and Doubs have. He has been projected to be the favorite target of the young quarterback. If he’s unable to play in Week 1, that would leave a massive hole in the Green Bay offensive game plan.

If Doubs isn’t able to play, that would leave Christian Watson, rookie Jayden Reed, and Samouri Toure as the top three receivers for Love. While they are all talented, Doubs is without a doubt needed for the offense to succeed.

Granted, this is far from being a report that Romeo Doubs will miss Week 1. We simply don’t know right now. But it is concerning, to say the least.

Expect to hear more information about Doubs’ injury status in the near future. LaFleur and company will simply have to wait and hope that the hamstring heals up in time to face off against the Bears.
