As the Green Bay Packers prepare for Thursday Night Football, could they be getting Aaron Jones back from injury?
Week 3 was an exciting one for the Packers. Despite missing a lot of starters and being down 17-0, the Packers were able to get their second win of the season after scoring 18 points unanswered against the New Orleans Saints.
With the win, the Packers now sit at 2-1 in the NFC North, which puts them in first place in the division. While it might not be considered the prettiest, the Packers are finding ways to win games despite having some key players out.
Even though it was a great win against the Saints, the Packers will be right back at it in a short week. Luckily for the Packers, it appears like they might be getting one of their key players back.
Jones has only played in one game so far for the Packers this season, and as a key playmaker in the offense, getting him back will help the team. Even though the Packers have a strong duo in the backfield with A.J. Dillion, he has struggled to find success on the ground so far this season. With Dillon only averaging 2.7 yards per carry, moving the ball on the ground hasn’t been a strength of the team.
Thursday night will be a massive game for the Packers, as they will be facing the Detroit Lions. The Lions are also off to a good start this season and this could be a key game when we look back at who wins the NFC North.
Having Aaron Jones back would give Green Bay not only their starting running back but a player who is a big factor in the passing game. Getting Jones touches as a receiver out of the backfield will help Love, who will need to play well in this divisional matchup.
