NFL teams have the opportunity to host up to 30 prospects for visits as part of their pre-draft preparations, and the Packers are actively tracking and engaging with potential draft picks, including Jones.
Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, Jones has showcased his defensive prowess over his collegiate career. With five interceptions, 15 passes defensed, 84 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery across 44 games, his impact on the field is undeniable.
Jones earned recognition as Florida State’s most improved defensive player in both 2022 and 2023, solidifying his status as a standout performer. Additionally, he garnered All-ACC honors and was the recipient of the Bobby Bowden Leadership Award in 2023.
Following a transformative period where he evolved into a shutdown defender, Jones significantly improved his coverage game, allowing zero touchdown passes while snagging four interceptions from 56 targets in 2022 and 2023, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). Notably, during the 2023 season, he attained elite coverage and man coverage grades, particularly excelling in slot coverage, where he spent nearly 90% of his total snaps.
Jones showcased remarkable athleticism, boasting a stellar Relative Athletic Score of 9.87 out of 10.0. His impressive vertical jump of 39.5 inches, broad jump of 10 feet 9 inches, and a blazing 40-yard dash time of 4.38 seconds underscore his physical capabilities.
Ranked as PFF’s No. 98 player overall in the draft class, Jones falls within the late Day 2 to early Day 3 range, indicating his potential value as a mid-round selection.
