Could the Las Vegas Raiders do the unthinkable and trade wide receiver Davante Adams?
Well, the Raiders themselves probably have no intention of moving the superstar. After all, they just acquired him in a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers a year-and-a-half ago and gave him a five-year contract extension in the process.
However, it might not be up to Las Vegas.
Adams recently expressed displeasure with the Raiders following the team’s ugly Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, criticizing the organizational culture and saying that he does not have time to just wait around.
That has led some to believe that the 30-year-old could potentially request to be dealt in the lead-up to the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.
Peter Bukowski of Locked On Packers has an idea for where Las Vegas should trade Davante Adams, and no; it’s not to the Green Bay Packers.
While the Cowboys do have CeeDee Lamb, their depth behind him can be described as relatively thin. Yes, Dallas has Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup, but the best days of both receivers seem to be behind them.
Adding Adams would instantly give Dallas one of the NFL’s best one-two punches in the aerial attack and would provide Dak Prescott with another much-needed target.
Of course, this is all just conjecture at this point. Adams is under contract through 2026, so the Raiders have no real reason to trade him. It also seems somewhat hard to imagine Adams demanding a trade midway through the season. Perhaps it’s something that could occur come springtime, but chances are, the wide out will play out the rest of 2023 in Vegas.
While the Raiders are just 1-2, Adams has remained dominant, logging 25 catches for 322 yards and three touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season.
