3. He Could Play Some Sort Of Tight End Role

Let’s start this off by saying that Funchess will not be switching to the tight end position. However, he could end up playing that kind of role at times in the Green Bay offense.

The Packers decided to release veteran tight end Jimmy Graham prior to the start of free agency. They wanted to sign Austin Hooper, but he ended up signing with the Cleveland Browns. Now, the Packers are left with Jace Sternberger, Marcedes Lewis, and Robert Tonyan at the position.

While Sternberger will likely be the starter, Green Bay could utilize Funchess in that role from time to time. At 6-foot-4 and nearly 240 pounds, he definitely has the size. LaFleur could get really creative with the Packers’ new wideout.
