Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman DeForest Buckner did not practice on Friday due to an undisclosed issue, according to James Boyd of The Athletic.

Buckner has battled through numerous minor injury issues this season but is yet to miss a game. It’s unknown if his absence from practice on Friday is anything injury-related.

Through six games this year, Buckner has logged 24 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oregon, was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the seventh overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Buckner enjoyed a very impressive rookie campaign, registering 73 tackles, six sacks and a couple of fumble recoveries.

However, it wasn’t until Buckner’s third season that he truly broke out when he racked up 67 tackles, 12 sacks and a fumble recovery en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The Wainanae, Hi. native spent the first four seasons of his career with the 49ers before signing with the Colts in 2020.

DeForest Buckner has proven to be a terrific acquisition for Indianapolis. He earned a First-Team All-Pro selection in his debut season for the club, recording 58 tackles, 9.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

He then made his second career Pro Bowl appearance in 2021 after finishing with 68 tackles and seven sacks, and while he didn’t make the Pro Bowl last season, he was still very effective, posting 74 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

The Colts are 3-3 on the season and will host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
