Colts Trade For Raiders’ Davante Adams In Bold Proposal

The Indianapolis Colts weren’t expected to contend for much of anything this season, but through three weeks, they find themselves right in the thick of the AFC South division race.

As a result, some are surmising that the Colts could make a move to bolster their roster ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline, and one area that could certainly use some shoring up is their receiving corps.

Recently, Las Vegas Raiders wide out Davante Adams expressed his displeasure with his team, criticizing the organizational culture and saying that he doesn’t have time to wait around.

That has sparked speculation that Adams could ultimately ask for a trade in the coming weeks, and if that happens, there will be no shortage of teams who will be interested in his services.

Indianapolis will surely be on that list.

The Colts could offer the Raiders a 2024 first-round draft pick and a third-rounder in exchange for Adams, who would instantly become Indy’s No. 1 receiver.

Is it a realistic possibility?

Well, Adams is under contract through 2026, so the Raiders would certainly be in no rush to move him unless he absolutely demands to be dealt. However, stranger things have happened, and if Adams’ mood following Las Vegas’ Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers is any indication, his patience may be running thin.

The Raiders acquired Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers in March 2022 and were expected to take a leap in his debut season with the club. Instead, Las Vegas went just 6-11 and changed quarterbacks in the offseason, going from Derek Carr to Jimmy Garoppolo.

The club is now just 1-2 through the first three games and has shown very little signs of life outside of Davante Adams, who has been busy with 25 catches for 322 yards and three touchdowns.
