Jets: 3 early goals for running back Le’Veon Bell in 2020

More than 4.5 yards per attempt

While watching Bell play for the Jets in 2019, it was evident that he wasn’t running behind the offensive line he had in Pittsburgh. As a result of New York’s putrid offensive line, Bell only managed to notch a below-average 3.2 yards per attempt last season.

Fortunately for Bell, the Jets made it a priority to address the offensive line this offseason. In free agency, New York signed Connor McGovern, George Fant, Greg Van Roten, and Josh Andrews. Then, in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Jets selected Mekhi Becton with the No. 11 pick in the first round out of Louisville.

Provided that the offensive line performs as New York envisions it to, Bell should have more open running lanes than he had a season ago. Taking that into account, Bell should be looking to average at least 4.5 yards per attempt next season.
