Marquez Valdes-Scantling, with experience playing alongside two formidable quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, recently made a bold statement regarding the hierarchy of NFL quarterbacks.

In a recent interview leading up to Super Bowl LVIII, he asserted that despite Tom Brady’s undeniable statistical prowess, both Mahomes and Rodgers surpass him in terms of sheer arm talent.

“I’ve played with the two best quarterbacks to ever play this game, especially when it comes to arm talent,” Valdes-Scantling said. “Obviously Brady has all the statistics, but I think Pat’s getting pretty close to breaking some of those. But when it comes to arm talent, between Aaron and Pat, they’re equal, so having those two guys being my quarterbacks for my career has been nothing but life-changing. I’m grateful for both those guys, I’ve got great friendships with both those guys. I hope I can finish my career with Pat.”

Valdes-Scantling’s assertion undoubtedly challenges the widely held view of Brady as the epitome of quarterback greatness, given his unmatched achievements and accolades in the league.

Despite this, Brady’s unparalleled seven Super Bowl rings likely serve as a comforting reminder of his historic legacy, even in the face of differing opinions on his place in NFL history.

There is no question that Mahomes and Rodgers certainly belong in the conversation of the great quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. However, Tom Brady still assumes the GOAT title as of right now.

The Kansas City Chiefs hope to boost Mahomes’ chances of becoming the GOAT over Brady with a Super Bowl win over the 49ers this week.
