The Las Vegas Raiders won their second straight game on Sunday, defeating the New England Patriots by a score of 21-17 in yet another strong defensive effort. Afterward, Raiders defensive lineman Adam Butler was disappointed in Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, as Butler was hoping for a warmer reunion with the coach who originally gave him a chance as an undrafted free agent back in 2017.

Instead, Butler didn’t get much of a greeting at all, and it bothered him.

“Before today, after the game, had a lot of appreciation for coach Belichick, still do in a sense, have a lot of appreciation for Robert Kraft, very thankful to him,” Butler said (via Jesse Merrick of News 3 Las Vegas). “You know, but it did make me very upset that Bill didn’t even have the respect for me to say anything after the game.”

Butler, who logged two tackles and picked up his first sack of the season in the win, expected more out of Belichick after spending four productive years in New England between 2017 and 2020.

“Not even congratulate me, tell me, ‘You look good,’ or, ‘You don’t look good.’ Whatever. ‘Kiss my (expletive),’ something,” said Butler of the things Belichick could have said to him. “But he didn’t say anything. You know, so, made me feel disrespected, you know, made me feel bad.”

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Vanderbilt, was a key rotational piece along the Pats’ defensive line during his four-year run with the club. His best season came in 2019, when he totaled 26 tackles, six sacks and five passes defended. Butler was also part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl-winning club the year prior.

Butler then joined the Miami Dolphins for one season in 2021. He was out of the league entirely in 2022 before signing a deal with the Raiders last January.

Obviously, there is no love lost between the Raiders and Patriots and Butler did not hold back on Bill Belichick.
