New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has suffered two concussions over his last three games, so, naturally, people are a bit concerned about his health moving forward.

However, Carr was cleared by a neurologist to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, and the veteran signal-caller does not think there is any need to worry.

“I have felt better, but I’m doing great, that’s for sure,” Carr said, according to Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Carr has not missed any games this season, but he has left three games due to injury—including the two contests in which he suffered concussions.

“I don’t really have any concerns,” Carr said. “I did some extra tests and things like that this week, just checking on things. Our doctors and the non-affiliated doctor said everything was perfect, they showed me the results in comparison to things.”

The 32-year-old continued to say he isn’t perturbed by the head injuries.

“I do not have any worries on that stuff,” he said. “It didn’t feel like the two were even related to one another. So, for me, that’s just sometimes the price of doing business and playing football. So no concern on that part, long term or short term. Fully confident that I can be alright playing with that part of it.”

Carr also praised the Saints’ medical staff for the way they have handled the situation.

“I appreciated that,” Carr said. “Maybe it took a couple more minutes, a couple more seconds here and there to do some things, but it’s definitely the smart thing to do and I appreciate them for looking out for me that way.”

Carr has thrown for 2,761 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 66.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 89.4 this season.

New Orleans is currently 5-7 and sits one game behind the Atlanta Falcons for first place in the NFC South.
