1. Eli Apple, Cornerback
It seems like yesterday that we were talking of the Giants possibly parting ways with Eli Apple because of a short-lived feud between him and teammate Landon Collins inside the locker room. Now today, all of that drama has apparently been settled and the Giants are ready to move forward with Apple as a key contributor in their secondary.
The Giants were 31st in yards allowed through the air last year so they’ll need Apple to contribute in a big way early. They also were the worst team in the NFL, allowing 32 passing touchdowns all of last season. The secondary of the Giants is very talented, but it remains to be seen how this group of guys gel together. The Giants’ pass defense is definitely an area that needs improved. We’ll continue to monitor how their group of guys on the back end of their defense play in Week 2 of the NFL preseason.
